Private Hot Tub

Your private hot tub is heated using logs in a log burner to give you an extremely authentic and eco friendly experience.

It can accommodate up to 6 people and takes around 2 1/2 hours to heat and can stay warm for 14 hours. They will need 2-3 bags of logs to reach the required temperature and these will be provided at your accommodation along with firelighters, kindling and matches. Extra logs can be ordered in advance during booking or while you are staying. Additional wood boxes and kits cost £15 per box. Full instructions and safety information are provided in your accommodation.

The wooden tub has a plastic liner and generous seating inside. Prepare to unwind in the clear warm water and admire the beauty of the spectacular scenery. Can I bring my own wood for the hot tub or fire pit?

Guests are permitted to bring their own wood to use on the fire pit or the hot tub. But we suggest kiln dried wood.

Hot Tub User Guide

  • Please shower with soap and water before and after using the hot tub. Showering before use washes away many of the common skin bacteria and removes lotions, deodorants, creams, etc., which reduce the effectiveness of the spa sanitizer which disinfects the water.

  • Please avoid using the hot tub if you have fake tan on.

  • Never use glass near or in the hot tub, as broken glass can cause a risk to people in bare feet and is very difficult to see within the hot tub water. If glass is broken the tub will have to be drained and refilled at an extra cost to you and ruins the fun!

  • Always replace the lid and turn off jets and LED lights when the tub is not in use.

  • Don't touch the chimney or wood-burning stove (except for the door handle) as they may be very hot.

  • Do not tamper with the hot tub other than as described in the user guide. If any fault or damage occurs with the hot tub, please contact us as soon as possible. Damage caused to any part of the hot tub will need to be paid for by the occupant.

  • Hot tubs should not be used if you are pregnant.

  • People with skin, ear, genital or other body infections, open sores, or wounds should not use the hot tub because of the possibility of spreading infection or irritating your condition.

  • Persons suffering from obesity or with a medical history or heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulation system problems or diabetes, should consult a physician before using the hot tub.

  • Persons using medication should consult a physician before using a spa since some medication may induce drowsiness, while other medication may affect heart rate, blood pressure & circulation.

  • At 39/40 °C limit your time in the hot tub to a maximum of 20 minutes, as extending this time can affect your inner organs and cause fever like conditions.

  • Never use the hot tub alone. Take care when entering and leaving the hot tub. When leaving the hot tub leg muscles may be relaxed enough to make you unsteady.

  • Do not use any electrical appliances near or in the hot tub.

  • Persons with heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure, or any serious illness should not enter the hot tub without prior consultation with their Doctor.

  • Parents are advised that the hot tubs are not suitable for children under the age of four. Children over four should be able to stand in the hot tub with their head fully out of the water.

  • The heat of the hot tub water speeds up the effects of alcohol and can cause sleepiness, dizziness and unconsciousness.

  • Shaving or other acts of personal hygiene are not allowed in the hot tub.

  • Never allow children to use the hot tub unsupervised and when not in use make sure the cover is on and secured.

  • Avoid using the hot tub immediately after a heavy meal.

  • Take care on entering and exiting the hot tub. Please also take sure on the decking as water from the tub can cause it to be slippery.

  • If temperatures get too hot you can add some cold water into the tub using the hose – IF YOU FIND YOUR TUB IS TOO HOT – GET OUT.

  • All users of the hot tub do so at their own risk.

  • If you continue to burn in the stove; you are going to continue to heat up your water. While this seems straightforward it does carry a risk at severely burning occupants, as well as damaging the equipment. Assess whether the tub is getting too hot for your liking and stop adding wood to the stove once it has. The stove also has an air circulation control on the door which would then need to be shut. Your target temperature should not exceed 42C degrees.

  • The best way to fire up the hot tub is start with kindling (fire lighters (tablets) can be used). When the flame is getting bigger you can add bigger pieces of wood. It is recommended to use kiln dry wood. Fire intensity can be adjusted with the vent located on the stove which regulates the air intake into the burning chamber. Keep the vent fully open until you have a well established fire. Close over slightly once your fire is going well and the tub is heating as you require.
